Irish Astronomy Week 2025
During the first week of March, we celebrate Irish Astronomy Week. It’s a week filled with free events, library talks, workshops, stargazing sessions, dark sky walks, planetarium shows and exhibitions, with observatories, schools, libraries, and science centres taking part all throughout Ireland.
At Blackrock Castle we love to take part in and support this national week, but this year we will unfortunately be undergoing renovations. These renovations will include our bathrooms, and therefore we will not be hosting any events on site and will be closed for a number of weeks in February and March.
Don’t worry though, because there are countless other events to attend. Take a look at the Irish Astronomy Week website, where you can see event listings throughout the country and you can filter by county to see more local events.
